On 1 April 2025, the BIS launched its 14th Triennial Central Bank Survey of foreign exchange and Over-the-counter derivatives markets. Preliminary results were released on 30 September 2025.

The data released in September 2025 were preliminary. The final turnover data, as well as several articles that analyse them, were released with the BIS Quarterly Review in December 2025.

The results of the 2025 Triennial Survey can be browsed using the BIS Data Portal.
The Triennial Survey complements more frequent regional surveys conducted by foreign exchange committees in Australia, Canada, London, New York, Singapore and Tokyo as well as the semiannual survey of OTC derivatives markets coordinated by the BIS.
National survey results are also available on the websites of the central banks and other authorities that participated in the survey.
