Rapper Pooh Shiesty and his father were reportedly both arrested this week after the FBI was seen raiding a Memphis-area home belonging to the family.
Federal agents were seen early Wednesday morning in and around the quaint property in Cordova, TN, with local news outlet Fox 13 Memphis later reporting that the FBI was executing “a federal court authorized search and arrest warrant” at the dwelling.
At the time, no details about the arrest warrant or the reason for the raid were revealed—however TMZ now reports that the 26-year-old rapper, whose real name is Lontrell Denell Williams Jr., was not present at the property when it was searched by federal agents and was instead arrested in Dallas, TX, where he is currently taking part in a residential reentry program following his October 2025 release from prison.
The outlet further states that the rapper’s father, Lontrell Williams Sr., was taken into custody by authorities at the Cordova dwelling.
Law enforcement sources told TMZ that the father and son were arrested as part of a federal criminal case, however no charges have yet been filed against either man. It’s unclear exactly what crimes—if any—they stand accused of.
The arrests come just five months after Shiesty was released from prison, where he served more than three years of a 63-month sentence for firearms and drug charges.
He agreed to plead guilty to conspiring to possess firearms in furtherance of crimes of violence and drug trafficking in January 2022 in order to avoid a possible life sentence, according to the Associated Press.
As part of his plea deal, prosecutors agreed to drop three charges, including one gun charge that carried a maximum sentence of life in prison.
In October 2025, when the rapper was released, Shiesty’s lawyer told Memphis news network WMC that he was looking forward to getting back into the studio and making music again; however, it is unclear where he was living after he left the high-security Pennsylvania prison where he was serving his sentence.
Weeks after his release, Shiesty released several new songs, including a track called “FDO,” meaning “first day out,” which celebrated his return to society—while also calling attention to some of his biggest rap influences.
Interestingly, in January, reports began to surface online that the musician had been arrested again, this time in Texas; however, he later slammed those rumors as nothing more than speculation.
According to the Federal Bureau of Prisons website, Shiesty was moved to a residential reentry facility in Dallas after his release from prison—where he is due to remain until April 11, 2026.
Traditionally, the rapper’s involvement in the residential reentry program would prevent him from traveling to another state, however he does appear to have been given permission to spend ample time away from the facility, according to his social media posts.
It is unclear who exactly owns the raided home, which records show is registered under the name Lontrell Denell Williams, a moniker that both the rapper and his father share.
Property records indicate that the four-bedroom, 3.5-bathroom dwelling was purchased in April 2023 for $656,500, having previously been listed for $719,000.
There are more than 10 other Memphis-area properties registered to a Lontrell Williams, while another home on the outskirts of the city is owned by the rapper’s father.
Since his release from prison, Shiesty has been promoting his new music on social media, while also sharing images and video of himself posing with large stacks of cash.
Earlier this month, the “Back in Blood” rapper shared a video of himself purchasing a new luxury car at a dealership in Collierville, TN. The clip reveals Shiesty’s new Mercedes, as well as a congratulatory message from the dealership team.
Collierville is located around a 20-minute drive from the raided Cordova property, suggesting that Shiesty has been spending time in his home state since his release from prison.
Shiesty, who was born and raised in Memphis, first shot to fame in 2020, when he was signed to fellow rapper Gucci Mane‘s 1017 Records label. Months later, he released his first major hit, “Back in Blood,” which reached the top 20 on the Billboard charts.
However, in July of that same year, Shiesty was involved in a shooting incident in Memphis, when he was found to have been in the same vehicle as a person who discharged a firearm at a local gas station, according to the Associated Press.
Months later, he was arrested in Florida after another shooting incident in which two people were injured. Authorities said that the shooting occurred during a robbery in which marijuana, codeine, and several pairs of luxury sneakers were stolen.
He was taken into custody yet again in 2021, after he was accused of shooting and wounding a security guard at a Miami club. Following this arrest, a judge ordered that he be held in custody without bail until his trial, according to the Miami Herald—however, he agreed to a plea bargain before this trial could take place.
