Angelina Jolie Lists L.A. Estate for $30 Million Amid Rumors of Overseas Move

Hollywood starlet Angelina Jolie has put her legendary Los Angeles estate on the market for $29.9 million—nearly two years after confessing that she wanted to leave the U.S. for good and move abroad.

Jolie, 50, purchased the extraordinary dwelling, which was once home to iconic filmmaker Cecil B. DeMille, for $24.5 million in 2017, less than a year after she filed for divorce from fellow on-screen star Brad Pitt, and it has served as her primary residence ever since.

However, in August 2025, rumors began to swirl that she was preparing the property for sale, after she admitted to The Hollywood Reporter that she was hoping to leave Los Angeles as soon as the youngest of her six children turned 18.

She explained to the outlet in a 2024 interview that, per the terms of her divorce settlement with Pitt, which was only finalized that year, she was required to remain in California until all of their children reached the milestone age—but said that she hoped to spend “a lot of time in Cambodia” when she was free to relocate.

“I grew up in this town. I am here because I have to be here from a divorce, but as soon as they’re 18, I’ll be able to leave,” she said at the time.

“When you have a big family, you want them to have privacy, peace, safety. I have a house now to raise my children, but sometimes this place can be … that humanity that I found across the world is not what I grew up with here. [After Los Angeles,] I’ll spend a lot of time in Cambodia. I’ll spend time visiting my family members wherever they may be in the world.”

Now, just two months before Jolie’s youngest children, twins Knox and Vivienne, are due to celebrate their 18 birthdays, it appears the actress is starting to finalize her plans to leave L.A. by listing her six-bedroom, 10-bathroom estate, where she has lived with her kids since she and Pitt split.

As first reported by The Wall Street Journal, the property—which sits on nearly two acres of lush land—is listed with Jon Grauman of Resident Group and Ernie Carswell of Sotheby’s International Realty.

Jolie’s name is not mentioned in the listing, which went live on May 4, however the property’s illustrious history features prominently in the description, which described the home as an “iconic compound.”

“The legendary Cecil B. DeMille estate is now discretely being offered, marking a once-in-a-generation opportunity to own a piece of Hollywood history—an iconic compound from which Hollywood’s future was shaped, and where Mr. DeMille helped define the industry as the entertainment capital of the world,” it reads.

“Originally conceived in 1913 by architect B. Cooper Corbett, the high-walled estate stands as a cornerstone of Hollywood’s architectural and cultural legacy. Acquired by Cecil B. DeMille in 1916, it quickly evolved into a sanctuary of cinematic innovation and social grandeur.”

The listing notes that the existing property was expanded by DeMille in 1920, when he acquired a neighboring abode that was once home to Charlie Chaplin—and then set about connecting the two dwellings “by way of a graceful glass corridor.”

“This union of artistry and vision transformed the property into a singular masterpiece, embodying the glamour and creative force of Hollywood’s Golden Age,” the description goes on.

While much is made of the home’s impressive Hollywood history, the listing features little to no information about the changes that Jolie has made to the dwelling since moving in nearly 10 years ago—and it features no interior images of the property, likely in a bid to protect the actress’s privacy.

Among the upscale amenities that are mentioned in the description are a fitness studio, a tea house, a guest house studio with its own living room, fireplace, and private gated entry, and a pool house, as well as a “separate garage with security station.”

“Perched at the highest point within the prestigious Laughlin Park enclave, the grounds command sweeping views of the Hollywood Hills and Griffith Observatory—adding further romance to this timeless legacy estate,” the description adds.
