Hilaria Baldwin Reveals Plans to Swap Hamptons Retreat for Spanish Summers

Hilaria Baldwin has revealed that she and Alec Baldwin are planning to spend their summers in Spain with their children moving forward—explaining why they have decided to swap their longtime Hamptons estate for a European adventure, even as the property continues to linger on the market.

The mother of seven said she is hopeful that the family can spend much more time overseas in the coming years, noting that her children have expressed an interest in strengthening their connection to Spain, where Hilaria’s parents now live.

While speaking with the Daily Mail, the 42-year-old, who was born in Boston as Hillary Hayward-Thomas, said that she and her family plan to jet off to the Spanish island of Mallorca in July, where they will stay for the entirety of the month, although she neglected to reveal when or if Alec, 68, will join them.

“I’m bringing my kids to go be with my family for the month of July in Mallorca. So I’m super excited. So that’s kind of how I envision the summers going forward,” she said.

For years, the Baldwins have spent their summers soaking up the East Coast sunshine at their longtime Hamptons estate in Amagansett, however they called time on that chapter of their lives when they put the dwelling on the market in December 2025, revealing that they want to prioritize spending time abroad.

Still, Hilaria noted that her plans for a Spanish summer are very much an experiment to see whether it is something that the family wants to commit to every year—revealing that they do still plan to use their Hamptons home, at least until it sells.

“I hope that we can spend more time there and… with my family, and so we’ll see. This is like we’re testing the waters and seeing what that would be like, of summers there rather than the Hamptons,” the mom of seven continued.

She noted that for the time being they would be spliting their time between Spain and the Hamptons.

“I’m going to spend half with my family [in Spain] and then I’ll go back to the Hamptons,” she added.

The family’s plans also mark a new chapter for Hilaria, whose ties to Spain became the subject of widespread scrutiny in late 2020.

The controversy erupted after social media users started to Hilaria’s Spanish heritage, having deduced that she was, in fact, born and raised in Massachusetts and not in Europe, as many had been led to believe.

Videos of Hilaria speaking with a Spanish accent—including a now-viral TV appearance in which she appeared to forget the English word for “cucumber”—were spread across the internet, leading to widespread backlash against the reality star.

Hilaria later addressed the controversy, explaining that while she was born in Massachusetts, she spent time growing up in both the United States and Spain and was raised in a bilingual household.

She acknowledged that she could have been clearer when discussing her background but maintained that Spain has always been an important part of her identity and family life.

She revealed that going forward, their family will be skipping their lavish Hamptons summer and trading it for a life abroad as they continue searching for a buyer. TLC

Now, she appears to be making that connection an even bigger part of her children’s upbringing.

The announcement comes as the Baldwins continue searching for a buyer for their sprawling Amagansett estate, which is currently listed for just under $20 million after several years on and off the market.

The Baldwins have made multiple attempts to sell the expansive Amagansett, NY, property over the years, beginning in September 2022, when it was put on the market for $29 million—a price that was then dropped steadily over the next 16 months, ultimately falling to $18.99 million in January 2024.

But the property failed to shift of the market, even after Alec, 68, filmed a personal video tour of the home, touting its many features and describing the memories he and his family had made there.

Still, no buyer came forward, and by October 2024, he and Hilaria, 42, had delisted the home altogether.

At that point, it seemed the couple, who share seven children together, had done a total U-turn on their decision to sell the five-bedroom estate, telling The New York Times in August 2025 that they had found it next to impossible to “quit” the home, particularly because it had become so important to their children.

“We keep coming back here because the kids are very happy,” Alec said. “They love it here. When I go up to the kids and go, ‘Want to sell the house?’, they go crazy. It’s a kid’s home that I never want to leave.”

But just four months after that interview was published, they threw another real estate curveball, popping the Hamptons manse back on the market, this time with a new set of listing photos and a newly reduced asking price of $21 million.

Within six weeks, that ask had been lowered again to $19.99 million, Realtor.com then revealed, it underwent another significant drop, this time to $18.99 million.

The latest discount came just three months after Hilaria—who has just over one million followers on her Instagram account—filmed her own personal social media ad for the property, urging her fans to help her and her husband find new owners for their “piece of paradise.”

In the clip, which is still posted on her Instagram, the mother of seven and former “Dancing With the Stars” contestant touted her favorite features of the property, including its proximity to the beach, the privacy, the size of the parcel, and the many memories that she and her family have made there.

“You know how much we love the Hamptons, we’ve made the most amazing memories in our home,” she began the clip—before explaining that they only decided to sell the property because the family is “off on a new adventure” that she could not yet disclose the details of.

While she has not revealed what that adventure entails, her social media accounts still show the family residing largely at their New York City apartment, although Hilaria has also traveled to Los Angeles and the Dominican Republic for various work projects in recent months.

Still, she noted in her video that, while the family no longer has a need for their Hamptons home, they will be devastated to leave it behind, especially her children who have spent much of their lives retreating to the property for the summer.

“We spend the summers in our pool. We go down to the beach which is really close to where we are. The kids go to camp there. … It is such an amazing, beautiful place,” she continued.

Set on roughly 10 acres, the five-bedroom estate features a chef’s kitchen, wood-paneled library, movie theater, wine tasting room, resort-style pool, and expansive outdoor entertaining spaces.

The property also offers room for future additions, including a guesthouse, tennis court, equestrian facilities, and a proposed expansion to the main residence.
